Sadly, AcornDomains is no more for me

    Hello,

I asked for my name to be removed from that thread, a few people had made comments regarding my involvement in underhand dealings, relating to domainlore, where I frequent, but have no part of.

It was indexed by google within hours and if I left it, potential clients of mine could have been put off.

Unfortunate it made your messages seemed blurry, but in a few posts it was essential to have them removed.

I’m only new to viewing acorn, and there seems to be lots of great people on there, just a lot of idiots ruining it at present in my opinion.

It has long been AD policy not to allow people’s personal names, company names or TAGS to be publically posted by people not related to that person. This is simply respecting people’s privacy.

Yes I removed a persons name in your thread, then I posted in that thread to say I had done so and reminded everyone of forums rules regarding this (this has come up many times in the past 6 years).

I didn’t edit anything of yours as Edited by Vizzy, that’s nonsense. Anything I edited was noted as Admin.

When you say “heavily edited” I removed about 6 name references.

Sorry you feel hard done by.

I certainly didn’t edit my posts on the date it says it was edited by me. The only explanation I can think of is that I edited the post some time before, then you edited it later, but the status message on who edited it was not replaced with updated message of who edited it last.

After 5 years on the forum, I was not aware that there is a policy to prevent naming someone (or refer to someone) in a non-defamatory way.
Surely privacy is important, but maybe it is even more important to bring this community to the next level where people can mention names and these name owners will not be ashamed to be mentioned and be associated with domain trading. This could also possibly help separate wheat from the chaff, so those who prefer to hide wouldn’t feel comfortable there.

AcornDomains is a great place and I will certainly miss it, but I think it’s a time for a break.
